Extension of Terms of Office of Partner Members

Closed 23 May 2025

Opened 14 May 2025

Overview

Dear GP Colleagues,

You may will be aware that NHS England recently published the Model Integrated Care Board (‘ICB’) blueprint which sets out a vision for the future role and functions of ICBs.

Enacting the blueprint requires significant organisational transformation and change.  To help support continuity of Board leadership, stability and effective use of resources during this process the ICB is seeking a short extension to the terms of office for some of our Board members, specifically those whose terms of office are due to expire at the end of June 2025.  The proposed extension is for one year from 1st July 2025 to 30th June 2026.

As such the ICB is seeking to extend the Terms of Office of the following Partner Members-Providers of Primary Medical Services:

  • Dr Jonathan Levy;
  • Dr Simon Caplan.

These Partner Members bring knowledge and experience from their sectors and contribute the perspective of their sectors to the decisions of the ICB Board.  Importantly, they do not act as delegates of their respective sectors or representatives of their organisations.

Under the ICB’s Constitution the ICB Chair decides who to appoint as Partner Members.  However, this appointment is from a list of nominees agreed by our Integrated Care System (‘ICS’) GP practice partners.  This process was previously undertaken in 2022, where your organisations supported the nominations.  As such we are writing to you to confirm that the nominations of Dr Levy and Dr Caplan remain valid.

Please can you complete this survey by Friday 23rd May 2025, confirming that the nominations remain valid.  If we do not hear from you by then, as per the ICB’s Constitution, the ICB will deem this as your agreement that the nominations remain valid.
