General Practice Bridging Access Service (Appointments out of hours) fv

Closes 10 Jan 2025

Opened 28 Nov 2024

Overview

Dear Patient,

Evening, weekend and bank holiday appointments in general practice

We are writing to update you on evening, weekend and bank holiday appointments in general practice.

As a patient in Camden you can access GP appointments from 8am-8pm seven days a week. This will often be through your GP Practice, open 8am-6.30pm on weekdays.

GP appointments are also available in the evenings, weekends and on bank holidays.

The contract for one of these extended services ends in September 2025. NHS North Central London Integrated Care Board, the organisation responsible for commissioning general practice services, is in the process of identifying an organisation, to ensure continued provision of these services, with a new contract to be awarded from October 2025 – September 2027. This letter is to advise you that we will be running a process from early 2025, and we will write again at the end of this process.

There will be no reduction in appointments or changes in ways that you access appointments as a result of this process.

You will continue to be able to access evening, weekend or bank holiday appointments by:

• calling or visiting your GP practice during opening hours, 8am – 6.30pm, Monday to Friday

• calling 020 7391 9979 between 12pm-8pm Monday to Friday; 8am – 8pm Saturdays, Sundays, and bank holidays

Yours sincerely,

NHS North Central London Integrated Care Board
