Start Well Children’s Emergency Surgical Services Questionnaire (AV)

Overview

The NHS in North Central London (covering Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey and Islington) is asking for views on a proposed change to emergency surgical services for babies and young children. This builds on a previous public consultation that was undertaken between December 2023 and March 2024.  

The engagement and proposal for change have been developed by NHS North Central London Integrated Care Board, a part of the NHS responsible for developing a plan for meeting the health needs of the local population, managing the NHS budget for North Central London, and arranging for the provision of health services in our area. NHS North Central London Integrated Care Board works closely with NHS England’s specialised commissioning team, which commissions particular specialised surgical services. 

A key aim is to help address the health inequalities we see between the communities in our area. Our proposals have been developed by doctors, nurses, and other health professionals, working together with feedback from residents and service users.

NHS North Central London Integrated Care Board has appointed Verve, an independent company, to manage and report the engagement responses to the Integrated Care Board for its consideration. This report will summarise the views of staff and members of the public, and their comments will be anonymous. Feedback from representatives of organisations or someone acting in an official capacity may be attributed with their consent.
